For PLANT products:

We are a certified nursery in the commonwealth of Kentucky License No.1A, which is inspected by Agricultural Experiment Station Office S.R. Palli (State Entomologist) in Lexington KY. As stated "This is to certify that the nursery stock belonging to Studio Jesse James...in Lexington has been inspected by a duly appointed inspector fro this office, in accordance with the provisions of the Kentucky Nursery Inspection Law enacted at the Regular Session of the General Assembly in 1926, with subsequent revisions and said stock was found to be apparently free from dangerous insects and plant diseases. This license is valid during the effective licensing period shown above; unless sooner revoked."

We are also certified with USDA. Our plant import and export permit number is p37-20-02541.

1. Our shippings prices have raised. This is due to shipping prices raising with our shippers. We only offer discounted shipping rates through purchases made on our website studiojessejames.com. If you have already completed a purchase on etsy, we cannot credit you back for any shipping overages.

2. If you are experiencing shipping delays, this is beyond our control. We have tried to find the fastest route to you all, but unfortunately shippers are experiencing delays. While USPS use to be the fastest for smaller boxes, particularly to the west coast, we have found that they are delaying too long and heat-packs stop working due to delays. So we primarily use fedex at this point. If you live in a mountainous area (or an area that is not near a central fedex hub), that is hard to get to, unfortunately there will be delays with the shippers, and we would recommend holding off on buying plants until the season warms up in march.

3. If we have shipped your plant via USPS and your package has been delayed by more than 10 days, or you receive a plant after a week and it is dead, you will need to file a claim with USPS, all plant purchases are 100% insured at the time of shipment. Most of the time your money is returned. If for whatever reason your claim is denied by USPS, please submit to us the denial letter and we will firstly replace the plant you have purchased, and if we do not have anymore in stock, we will refund you your money back on the plant. Please be aware that while we are here to help, but as a small business we cannot recoup the money for lost or damaged packages, like a buyer can. Which is why we ask all buyers to file their own claims for lost or delayed packages. If you cannot file a successful claim, as stated, we will then help to resend or refund.

4. Lastly, if you decline to order a heat-pack in winter, and your plant experiences cold damage during its travel, we will not refund for this plant. Please be aware that if your area is experiencing warm weather, other parts of the country may not be experiencing this, and the plant may have to travel through these cold parts. While we do our best to remind customers to buy a heat-pack, we cannot warranty the success of a plant that travels with no heat-pack in the dead of winter.

1. All items are 100% designed and handmade in-house. Some items are in stock and ready-to-ship, others made-to-order. If you have specific a lead time for your project, please contact us and we'll see what we can do!

2. Solid wood products are locally sourced and carry the Kentucky Proud designation.

How long does shipping take?

We ship our plants out on Mondays and Tuesdays. We strive to not have the plants sitting in a warehouse.

We almost exclusively use Fedex home delivery (please let us know if you are delivering to a business). Fedex ships out at 6pm on day dropped off.

For the states: CA, ID, OR, UT, WA it is a 4 day delivery (some areas of CA can be 5 days). We will attempt to get your delivery out on Monday, but if you order Sunday night, depending on the plant, it may be delayed to ship until following week.

For the states: AZ, CO, FL, KS, ME, MT, NE, NM, ND, OK, SD, TX, WY it will be a 3 day delivery (some parts of the state may be less or more days)

For all other states it is 1-2 days for delivery.

We do not sell plants to Hawaii

Where do you ship?

We ship our products to all of the United States (except for Hawaii and Puerto Rico, due to strict agricultural regulations). With that said, some states have very restrictive rules as to what plants can be shipped to them, and may confiscate the plant upon entering the state. It is up to the buyer ordering the plant to understand their states regulations, we will not be responsible for refunding any plants that have been confiscated by border control. We do not ship live plants abroad due to custom regulations.

Do you ship plants during winter?

Yes we ship plants during the winter. If the buyer is concerned about cold temperatures, the best option is to message us and discuss where it may be delivered and purchase heat packs to include with the plant. Some plants are more cold-sensitive than others, and so we don't offer these for sale during the winter. That said, in extenuating circumstances such as extreme cold, or when inclement weather may cause delayed delivery, we may hold off on shipping your plants until the situation improves. It's also important to note that someone should be home for delivery, plants can die quickly if left outside. If plant is compromised due to cold we cannot offer a refund. See next faq for where to get heat pack.

Do I need to sign for my package?

Our practice is to not require signature confirmation on our shipments, so that packages containing live plants can be delivered as quickly as possible and are not sitting in a warehouse. Please regularly check the tracking page after your order ships to ensure that you're able to receive your package as soon as possible after delivery. We are not responsible for any package delays that may compromise the plant if the buyer is not available for receiving the plant when it is to be delivered. That said, we are happy to add signature confirmation to any shipment upon request, if you are concerned about theft in your area.

What happens if package is delivered but we cannot find it?

If the estimated delivery date of your package has passed and the package has not been marked as delivered, it may be delayed in transit. Carriers typically update estimated delivery dates at the end of each business day. If the tracking information indicates that your package was delivered but you cannot locate it, please contact the carrier ASAP to report the incident. They are able to contact the driver who delivered the box, and are often able to ascertain if the package was delivered to the wrong address or scanned delivered by accident. In the very rare case that a box is lost in the mail, please contact us. If you are worried about theft, ask for signature delivery, we will not take responsibility for packages that have been stolen.
